CALL TO CONFERENCE & DEMONSTRATION:

RACIST IMAGERY IN THE POPULAR CULTURE

APRIL 11 & 12, 2004

The Indigenous community of Cleveland, Ohio, and supporters, urge your participation in our 6th Annual Conference on Racist Imagery in the Popular Culture. The forum will be held at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 2592 W. 14th Street, Cleveland Ohio, 44113 on Sunday, April 11, 2004; this will be followed by the opening-day march and demonstration at Jacob's Field
(Cleveland's Major League Baseball stadium), on the Ontario St. side, on Monday, April 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Unlike previous events, this year's focus will be informal. It will start at
2:00 p.m. with opening prayers and remarks, followed by an open forum where we can hear from folks around the country on what has been happening in their areas, what they have been doing and what can we all do to educate the public on racism. For those who plan on speaking, there will be a sign up sheet at the registration table.

The National Coalition on Racism will, as always, be here to help us organize. They will be represented again by Vernon Bellecourt, Clyde Bellecourt, and Charlene Teters. In fact, Clyde will be our spiritual leader.

As we've done in all previous conferences, we have a housing list for conference participants who would rather stay in a home than a motel. This is on a first come, first served basis. If you would like information on local hotels please contact us.

There will be no charge for attending this conference. There will be membership forms at the registration table for folks who would like to either continue as a member or become a member of the Committee of 500 Years of Dignity and Resistance.

Call 216-736-3725, 216-252-1622 or email clementf@ucc.org, wolf2020@netzero.net for more information. We look forward to you joining us!
