From: Russell Houle-North Central Montana American Indian Movement
As many were remembering 9/11,"I" sat home and a cleaned out Ol Betsy, scanning and defragging, etc. for 9/12 , in anxious anticipation of Leonard's online get-together. We had a blast, playing my 40 or so AIM/Peltier songs, one of my radio shows for LP, as well as others playing their songs in respect and remembrance of OUR brother who has been in the Iron Door House for nearly 30 yrs now. We were entertained by several live flute and guitar artists and singers. Thanks goes out to "Flute Maker","WindWalker, and my good friend and home state boy,"Hoqua", who sang for us live. Thanks to those I don't even remember who stepped up and played also. I have done a room for LP for 5 yrs now and this was the largest gathering to date. I was thrilled to see the room at the very TOP thru-out the night in the music section, leading all G, R, and A rated rooms in the ratings. Thanks to The People for making that happen. Special thanks goes out to the room Admins who kept the room safe and enjoyable for all to be in. Jeori, BareFtBabe, WalksWithVision,My bro from the Ridge, GreyCloud and eaglemom/Donna Pulliam. I would like to thank the lady who spoke up with the idea to send the room text to Leonard, I didnt forget you,but sure did your name, lol. Hey your text (and name) is there though, and we do know,"winks". We sent we're HERE and will STAY here till they FREE LEONARD PELTIER! For those of you who missed the gathering because of prior engagements, feel free to drop by United Native America music room at [1]www.paltalk.com and I will be more then happy to play you some tunes, his cd book or lend personal injecture. Hay hombres que luchan un dia y son buenos, hay otros que luchan muchos anios y son mejores, pero hay los que luchan toda la vida y esos son los indispensables. Bertolt Brecht Posted by Webmaster@AIMSupport.org 4:10 PM Message from the Director of the Leonard Peltier Defense Committee: I would like to personally thank all of you who signed the e-card for Leonard. We ended up with about 90 pages of signatures from people all over the planet. I talked to him yesterday and found him in good spirits, we even joked around reminiscing about our youth. Even though Leonards strength is monumental, birthdays behind bars are always hard milestones to endure. Your good thoughts and wishes will be good medicine for him. Pilamiyo Wanbli Watakpe Also dont forget; * Prayers for Leonard at 6PM your time (we decided to change the EST because it is hard for people in the earlier time zones to do this on a weekday). Whether your prayers, chants, or meditations go to Tunkasila, Allah, God, Buddha, or the Cosmos, the power of our spirits together will unlock the doors. Visualize Leonard walking out of prison. * Cyber- birthday celebration for Leonard hosted by the North Central Montana American Indian Movement in the United Native America music room, at www.paltalk.com at 5 pm EST. Bertolt Brecht Posted by Webmaster@AIMSupport.org 1:41 PM Dear friends, Allies and Supporters of Leonard Peltier, We just found out the Dalai Lama is in the US. He has been a strong supporter of Leonard's in the past. We have requested an audience with him on behalf of Leonard, this will be difficult since it's last minute and his schedule is certainly very tight, but it doesn't hurt to try. He will be on CNN Larry King Live this evening (9/11/2005) at 9PM EST, when he'll take calls on the air. We are asking those of you who can to call in to bring forward Leonard's plight. They do not have the number to call on their website so you have to watch the show to obtain it. You won't have much time, so we suggest hitting the following points: 1. Say you are calling about Leonard Peltier, a Native American political prisoner who is serving two consecutive life sentences for defending his land and his people. 2. Thank his Holiness for his support for Leonard in the past. 3. Leonard's extradition, and trial were fraught with government misconduct that has been acknowledged by the government itself. In the past 3 months he's been moved from prison to prison, put in solitary confinement, he is sick and will be 61 tomorrow. 3. Ask His Holiness if he could make a statement about the egregious miscarriage of justice in Leonard's case and to call upon the US judicial system to grant either a new and fair trial or complete pardon for Leonard Peltier. 4. Finally, please mention that from behind bars Leonard Peltier calls upon the People to help those in the devastation in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Especially those who are never mentioned, the Southern tribes of the Gulf region. The Houma Nation in Louisiana reports 3,500 Tribal members have been displaced. (donations can be sent to The United Houma Nation Hurricane Relief, 20986 Hwy 1, Golden Meadow, LA 70357) Good luck, I hope some of us get through! www.leonardpeltier.org http://www.cafepress.com/leonardpeltier Please visit the Guest Book for Steven R.
