Are some sports teams' names (like the Redskins and the Apaches) racist?
There's a heated national debate as to whether it's appropriate for sports teams to adopt Indian names like the Braves, Chiefs, or Cherokees. Nearly 100 organizations, including the NAACP and the NEA, have officially objected to the use of these names, denouncing them as offensive to Native Americans. Do you feel the use of these names is insensitive and hurtful to Native Americans, or is this controversy an example of political correctness run amok?
